When is the optimum time to do it?

The best carpet cleaning time may be sooner than you think.

Many decide to clean only when the dirt becomes visible. They think that's the right way to do it. But, waiting until that point could shorten the life of your carpets. Why?

Carpets, like clothing are textiles that are used every day. ¿What would happen to a shirt if you only washed it when the neck and cuffs become dirty? These areas wouldn't return to their original color.

The same is true with carpets. If the cleaning is delayed until the dirt becomes visible it will be much harder to keep the original texture, color and elegance.

When is the best moment to clean your carpets?

Before the dirt is easily perceptible. As the graph shows, when the dirt level becomes noticeable to your eyes!

In doing so, you will ensure that the use and adhered pollution will not do permanent damage to the fibers

As you use your carpets, they will darken as a result of the pollution that attaches to the fibers.

The problem with this subtle process is that your eyes will have difficulty in detecting wiht ease these little changes. That's why I suggest that you maintain a piece from the original sample so you can compare the level of dirt.

If you wait until they are very dirty, you will be risking the warmth and duration of your floor coverings.

Consequences of not cleaning in time

The following two photos of carpets not treated on time illustrate the bad consequences of this.

In both cases you can appreciate the big difference between the protected areas and the ones with more traffic. In these areas the pollution and the foot traffic caused big problems. If this occurs, it's much harder, (but not impossible) to return the carpet to a like new condition.

¿What is the golden rule?

"Clean your carpets before you perceive the dirt". This will assure you a longer life. They will stay more beautiful and will give you a better service.

Be attentive to clean when you should

To decide when is the best time for cleaning your carpets, watch not only the stains but also the subtle changes in color. If you act in time the cleaning will give you the best result.
